Lara Rose
I’ve always felt like I viewed the world in snapshots, framing every day scenes in my mind as if I were looking through a viewfinder. This is how I choose to shoot any subject matter even as my skillset has expanded. I aim to photograph people and things as they are, as I see them through my eyes. I want the barrier of the camera to disappear, so I can capture what’s in front of me in the most authentic way possible.
My favorite subject to photograph is people. I’m fascinated by the choices humans make whether they know their photograph is being taken or not. I’ve been lucky enough to be a photographer in the fashion space, capturing behind the scenes moments on set and for runway shows. I also enjoy making self-portraits and images of my friends. I love how anyone can remain true or transform in front of the lens, including myself.
At the end of the day, I just want those who view my photographs to see what I saw with my very own eyes - to feel like they were there, too.
